There are more than 6,000 children in care in Ireland and foster families are always needed.
Can you help?

Fostering takes a lot of patience, love and commitment. You also get so much out of changing a young person’s life for the better and you won’t be on your own. Whether this is the first time you are considering fostering a child, or you are an experienced foster carer, you can foster with us. We’ll give you all the support and training you need to be a confident, capable foster carer.

Why not answer a few quick questions to find out if you can foster.

What is fostering?

Foster carers give a safe, supportive family environment to children in care who cannot live with their birth family. That could be for a number of reasons, like family difficulties, when a child has been abused or neglected, or if the child is in danger of being harmed

Who is FFI?

We are an independent fostering agency in Ireland called FFI, which stands for Fostering First Ireland. We assess, train and support foster carers, so they feel equipped to give foster children the care they need. When you foster with us, you get:

  • access to 24/7 support
  • all the training you need
  • a competitive financial package
  • organised activities for you and your family
  • support from other carers at carer group meetings
  • paid respite.
  • responsive social work support
