Assessing Social Worker

Due to continued growth FFI wish to recruit self-employed, sessional fostering assessors on an ‘as and when required’ basis in the Dublin, Meath, Wexford, Limerick and surrounding areas.

Fostering First Ireland (FFI) is a dynamic non-statutory foster care agency working in partnership with Tusla providing high quality and innovative family placements for children in care.

FFI are seeking to recruit to assessors on a self-employed contractual basis. Experience in fostering and writing fostering assessment reports would be beneficial.

You must be accredited as a social worker by CORU having obtained the NQSW or an equivalent qualification to work in the Republic of Ireland.

FFI offer a competitive fee per assessment, and a mileage allowance.  FFI also offer practical assistance and supervision during the assessment process.

Sessional Support Workers

We work in partnership with Tusla to provide children and young people with a positive foster care experience.

FFI regularly recruit suitably experienced and qualified Social Care Workers to work with us on an ongoing basis in the South and the Midlands including the counties of Cork; Tipperary; Kilkenny; Kildare; Carlow; Laois; Wicklow; and Westmeath.

Sessional Support Workers undertake direct work with the children and young people placed with our foster carers. The work is varied and includes providing transport, planning and supporting activities, supervising family access and carrying out individual and group work.

We offer competitive hourly rates, mileage allowance and comprehensive support.

Applicants will need to have:

  • A recognised third level qualification (minimum Level 7) in Social Care, Youth Work or equivalent.
  • Experience of working directly with children/young people in the care system or other relevant field.
  • Be prepared to work flexible hours – including weekends.
  • The ability to build positive relationships with children and young people.
  • The ability to work on your own initiative.
  • Excellent report writing skills.
  • A full, clean driving licence and use of a comprehensively insured vehicle. You will also need to provide Fostering First Ireland with a Letter of Indemnity from your motor insurance company.

Please Note – these positions are on a sessional contractual basis with irregular frequency.
