A dedicated team ensures that FFI maintains its high quality of care for the children/young people we place, our carers and HSE partners.
The Quality Assurance team promotes continuous improvement in all aspects of FFI services. It ensures that we not only comply with internal and external standards- but that we strive to exceed them.
It also acts as a source of information, advice and support to staff at all levels across the agency and supports staff and project teams to evaluate their work- also conducting customers surveys and producing analysis of their feedback.
The team produces performance review information and tackles specific work as identified by the FFI Director, the Management Team or the FCA/FFI Board of Directors.
It is this team that sets our performance standards and makes sure that they are understood as well as producing and regularly reviewing and updating all FFI policies and procedures- ensuring that we are using best practice and current thinking.
Audits and inspections come under the auspices of this team, as well as alerting agency staff to relevant central policy initiatives.
It is the Quality Assurance team that responds to formal complaints and, where issues can't be resolved at local level, will undertake investigation.
FFI has a representations and complaints procedure in line with regulatory requirements.
Finally the QA team liaises with a range of key external stakeholders over matters of fostering service standards and policies, including the Social Services Inspectorate within the Health Information and Quality Authority (SSI-HIQA), the Health Service Executive and the Irish Foster Care Association.
Details of external inspections of FFI's services can be obtained from the QA team or by accessing the website of the Social Services Inspectorate.
