Therapy Service
The focus of the FFI Therapy service is to make foster placements more successful and to help young people engage in positive relationships and experiences.
FFI employs qualified, accredited and experienced Therapists and Psychologists who work locally in teams. FFI’s Therapists offer consultation to foster carers and the wider support network, either individually or though groups.
They also provide training on specialist subjects such as self-harm.
Assessing the needs of the child or young person
A Team Parenting™ assessment involves assessing the child or young person’s specific needs, along with recommendations on how best to address them.
When a Team Parenting™ assessment indicates the need for individual therapy for a young person, this may be provided either by an FFI Therapist or with a commissioned specialist.
