Education Service

FFI has a commitment to ensure all children and young people receive an appropriate education to help them achieve their full potential.

We understand the barriers that face young people in public care. That’s why, through our Team Parenting™ approach, we’re able to support our children and their teachers with many of the difficulties they present.

We celebrate educational successes throughout the organisation - encouraging young people to strive for nationally recognised qualifications that can be used as currency in the job market or as a passport to further education.

Education Officers

Educational Officers are responsible for finding appropriate education provision for every young person placed via the agency. All Education Officers have extensive experience of working in the field of education; many are teachers who have worked with children with special education needs.

Support from Education Officers can include helping children settle into new schools, home tuition for students preparing for Junior and Leaving Certificates, and offering advice and support to school staff.
